General Guidelines

IMF is structured to meet the needs of today’s missionary. If you are in need of a spiritual covering, if you need to provide tax deductible receipts for your supporters or if you do not have the time and equipment to put together quality newsletters, the IMF Missions Agency can help you. Qualifying persons may join the Fellowship and “plug into” a world-wide network of ministers and churches as you receive our agency services.

IMF Foreign Missions Agency believes that quality newsletters, prompt “thank you's” and timely tax deductible receipts will make supporting your ministry an appealing option. Display professionalism to your supporters that will allow you to observe the results!

Read through the service options on the Services Offered page. If you are interested in applying for membership after reading through the services, call the IMF office 763 571-5967 and request a General Fellowship application packet, along with a Missions packet, to be sent to you. Fill out the application for membership in the Fellowship and provide the information requested on the IMF Missionary Preliminary Application Form (found below).

The IMF Missions Agency suggests that you complete a video/workbook program which is available to you through the IMF office. You will also receive a copy of the book Friend Raising by Betty Barnett and People Raising by William P. Dillon, which we recommend that you read. In addition a week long training class in fund-raising in Orlando, Florida is available to IMF members who desire to take specialized training in this subject as well as missions candidacy school (additional costs required).

Send in your list of supporters or potential supporters to IMF. If you already have been working with a group of people, our aim will be to maintain or improve the caliber of your mailings and correspondence. If you are just beginning to establish your support base, we will send out your first letter along with a letter of recommendation from your pastor or IMF as well as a response card for the recipients of your letters to fill out. We have numerous member clients who enthusiastically recommend our services to others. Contact our office for references.

IMF is unable to directly furnish you with names and addresses of potential supporters. We will, however, make every effort to present your ministry to the members and friends of the Fellowship.

Telephone and in person interviews are available with the IMF Director of Missions or an other Missions' Representative.

Once you receive a missions packet, you will need to fill out the questions on page 5 (the questions are also found below, for your reference, when you click on the Missions Application link).

Agency missionaries come under the active covering of the IMF Missions Department. We work with you to develop specific ministry goals and a system to report your progress towards them. We help you publish regular attractive newsletters, and we try to work with churches and individuals to develop your support on the field. Agency missionaries pay a flat monthly fee based on the size of their mailing list or at a rate established by the IMF Board of Directors depending on services required. Agency Missionaries are given counsel regarding ministry vision, strategies and tactics, oversight and accountability in ministry, and field visits when possible. Member missionaries are IMF members in good standing who use our support services on an occasional basis, but who are not formally enrolled in the Missions Agency itself. General donations are tax deductible and we provide timely receipts to donors.

We require that all new missionaries in either program be members in good standing with IMF and under the Spiritual covering of this ministry.

Rates: The IMF Missions Agency is structured on a fee-for-service basis. You will be billed according to the services provided through one of two formulas listed below.

General Policies (Fees are subject to change without notice.)

Service Fee: A Missions service Fee of $15.00 is deducted form donated funds monthly.

Rates: The IMF Missions Agency withholds 10% from missionary donations to help pay for the cost of services provided. In instances when the 10% from donations does not cover the direct coasts of printing, postage, and other services provided, a minimum fee
structure has been established to help cover monthly costs. Our
rates as of April 2006 are as follows:

Basic Fee Formula:

One Sided Newsletter - $70 monthly base fee + $.63 per person on your mailing list.
Two Sided Newsletter - $70 monthly base fee + $.68 per person on your mailing list
.

These rates are based on labor, material costs and mailing rates for US addresses. If your mailing list contains non-US addresses you will be billed for the additional postage.

Salary and benefits as established by Board of Directors.
Explanation of rates: Although newsletters are sent out bi-monthly, the thank-you receipts are sent out monthly. Financial support processing and mailing list maintenance are also weekly services. Therefore our rates are pro-rated on a monthly basis. Base rates here contained are subject to change. Members are always notified well in advance.

Billing: Your payment is due each month. Each time your newsletter is sent out the monthly rate could increase or decrease due to the number on your list or size of newsletter. A bill will be sent each month. You will be assigned a date by which your newsletter is due. Your bill must be up-to-date in order for your newsletter to be mailed out. You will be provided a publication and mailing schedule for your newsletter and payment is due each month. Example: If you have 100 people on your mailing list, all with US addresses, your monthly rate will be:
$70 + (100 x .68) $68 = $138.

Billing is determined by Board resolution. Notice of any changes would be given in advance.

Unpaid bills: No newsletters will be mailed if service fees remain outstanding. If any service fees remain outstanding more than four months, all agency services will be terminated.

Debt: If it is learned that the missionary or missionary candidate has incurred personal which is not being satisfactorily managed, the agency reserves the right to terminate agency services.

Statement of Faith: IMF is an Evangelical Fellowship with an emphasis on the centrality of Christ and the Person and Work of the Holy Spirit which offers fellowship, multiple members’ resources including appropriate ministerial credentials, ecclesiastical endorsement and the service of a missions sending agency. We will not publish or mail newsletters that contradict the IMF Statement of Faith. If it is learned that the subscribing party does not adhere to the IMF Statement of Faith and code of ethics, agency services may be terminated.
